Staff Profile: Mike Jeffrey

At Cimco, our team is more than the sum of its parts — diverse backgrounds, skills, and stories make us who we are. Every few weeks, we spotlight a team member to celebrate what makes them (and Cimco) unique.

Meet Mike Jeffrey, a true Cimco O.G.! Since joining the company in 2005, Mike has done just about every job — from working in the warehouse to sales (inside and out), making deliveries, and now serving as Operations Manager. Along the way, he’s played a big role in improving systems and processes to support the growth and operational accuracy Cimco is known for today. If you’ve worked with us over the last 20 years, you’ve probably met Mike. If not, here’s your chance!

Q&A with Mike Jeffrey:

Where did you grow up?
I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and lived here most of my life. I was born in Portland, Oregon, and have lived in Vancouver, Renton, Kent, Puyallup, and Port Orchard.

What are your hobbies outside of work?
My hobbies are boating, camping, and traveling around the area.

What is your favorite thing about working at Cimco?
Favorite thing about working here is the people, and the variety of opportunities within the company to grow. I enjoy supporting coworkers to help them grow.

Describe a time that your work made a difference and what you found satisfying about it.
I have been here 20 years, and have witnessed many positive changes during my time. When ownership changed 5 years ago, I was part of the team that helped make it successful in a positive way. From outside sales to operations and customer service it was fun helping the company grow to what it is today.

What's something throughout your career that people tend to come to you for your expertise?
People come to me for my experience in the industries that I have had the pleasure of working in. I was an estimator for years, working on blueprint takeoffs for quoting projects. I would make a list of the products and their quantities so we could supply the cost for the materials. We did projects ranging from new building construction to golf courses.

Do you have any surprise skills that no one in your professional world really knows about?
I spent 5 years working with air traffic control, and many years working in the marine industry ferrying yachts from place to place.
